(Austin, Texas, 12 May 2009) – Automation professionals in the U.S. and Europe are invited to attend one-day, vendor-neutral, educational seminars on WirelessHART™ technology, the first interoperable wireless communication standard for the process industries. The free seminars are being presented by industry specialists from the HART® Communication Foundation (www.hartcomm.org), ABB, Emerson Process Management, Endress+Hauser, Pepperl+Fuchs and Siemens.
Attendees will learn how this exciting new technology can help lower operating costs, reduce downtime and move their company from a costly scheduled maintenance strategy to a more cost-effective predictive maintenance strategy. Seminar topics include an overview of WirelessHART technology, using WirelessHART in the plant environment, and live WirelessHART demonstrations.
The WirelessHART seminars are
scheduled for Manchester, UK (2 June), Antwerp, Belgium (4 June),
Houston, TX (16 June), and Philadelphia, PA (25 June). Additional
dates and locations to be announced. There is no charge to attend
but registration is required and limited. For information and to
register, go to wirelesshart.hartcomm.org.
WirelessHART is a complementary
enhancement to HART technology, providing an additional capability
that can benefit both existing and new monitoring and control applications.
Wired or wireless, HART technology provides the tools and the flexibility
end users need to better manage their field measurement assets.
“These seminars are recommended for anyone interested in using WirelessHART technology in their
machines, process applications, or industrial facilities,”
says Ed Ladd, HART Communication Foundation Director of Technology
Programs. “This includes engineering contractors who are designing
applications, plants and facility upgrades, and engineering, and
shop floor staff who need to gain experience and exchange information
about maintenance, asset management, advanced diagnostics, and commissioning
tools.”
WirelessHART standard is an evolutionary
enhancement to the HART Communication
Protocol, the leading communication technology for intelligent
process measurement and control field devices and systems with more
than 26 million devices installed worldwide. WirelessHART is backward
compatible with currently installed HART devices, is supported by
existing HART tools, and provides an additional capability to access
asset management information in both existing and new monitoring
and control applications.
The HART Communication Foundation is an international, not-for-profit, membership organization supported
by more than 230 companies worldwide. Founded in 1993, the Foundation
is the technology owner, standards setting body and central authority
on the HART Protocol and provides global support for application
of the HART technology. The Foundation establishes and controls
the HART Communication standards including new developments and
technology enhancements that benefit and support the needs of the
industry.
