WirelessHART Seminars Provide Valuable Information on Industry’s First Wireless Communication Standard

End Users invited to vendor-neutral seminars in U.S. and Europe

Austin, TX, USA (13 August 2009) — The HART® Communication Foundation (www.hartcomm.org) is presenting educational seminars on WirelessHART™ technology in both the U.S. and Europe this fall. The seminars are part of an ongoing program to disseminate information to automation professionals on the first interoperable wireless communication standard for process monitoring and control applications.

Seminars in the U.S. are scheduled for Baton Rouge, LA (Oct 14), Joliet, IL (Oct 20) and Long Beach, CA (Oct 27). Dates and locations for seminars scheduled in Germany, Italy and Norway are to be announced. The one-day, vendor-neutral seminars are presented by industry specialists from the Foundation, ABB, Emerson Process Management, Endress+Hauser, Pepperl+Fuchs and Siemens.

Seminar topics include: understanding WirelessHART technology; using WirelessHART in the plant environment, planning a WirelessHART project; and live WirelessHART demonstrations. There is no charge to attend the seminars but registration is required and seats are limited. For information and to register, go to wirelesshart.hartcomm.org.

“These seminars are designed for end users interested in using WirelessHART technology in their machines, process applications, or industrial facilities,” says Ed Ladd, HCF Director of Technology Programs. “Users will learn how WirelessHART can help lower operating costs, reduce downtime and move your company from a costly scheduled maintenance strategy to a more cost-effective predictive maintenance strategy.”
The HART Communication Protocol is the leading communication technology for intelligent process measurement and control field devices and systems with more than 30 million devices installed worldwide. The WirelessHART Standard is an evolutionary enhancement to the HART Protocol that is backward compatible with currently installed HART devices, tools and systems and provides an additional capability to access asset management information in both existing and new monitoring and control applications

The HART Communication Foundation is an international, not-for-profit, membership organization supported by more than 230 companies worldwide. Founded in 1993, the Foundation is the technology owner, standards setting body and central authority on the HART Protocol and provides global support for application of the HART technology.
