HART Communication Foundation Participates in ISA104 Booth at ISA EXPO 2009

Multiple vendors demonstrate interoperability of automation technologies using Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL)

(Austin, TX, USA - 6 October 2009) The HARTÒ Communication Foundation (www.hartcomm.org) is participating in the ISA104 Standards Committee booth during ISA EXPO 2009 (Oct.  6-8, Houston, TX). The booth features advancements in digital automation and wireless technology and demonstrates the functionality of Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL) with a range of field devices, transmitters and valve positioners using HART Communication and WirelessHART™ technology as well as Foundation fieldbus and PROFIBUS technologies.

In addition, the HART Communication Foundation will demonstrate the HART Device Description Integrated Development Environment (DD-IDE) tool suite that includes the HART reference host SDC-625. The HART DD-IDE is a comprehensive set of integrated software tools for the efficient development, testing and maintenance of enhanced HART Device Descriptions (DDs) and DDs for WirelessHART devices.

The HART Communication Foundation joins Fieldbus Foundation, PROFIBUS Nutzerorganisation e.V., OPC Foundation, and major automation vendors in the ISA104 booth to demonstrate the latest industrial automation solutions, including hosts, handheld devices, transmitters, drives, valve positioners and workbenches.

The EDDL (IEC 61804-3) is an open, interoperable device integration standard created to support rich user interfaces for advanced diagnostics and sophisticated setup for multiple protocols in an easy to load, OS independent and license key-free format.

The HART Communication Foundation (www.hartcomm.org) is an international, not-for-profit, membership organization supported by more than 200 companies worldwide. Founded in 1993, the Foundation is the technology owner and central authority on the HART Protocol and provides global support for application of the HART technology.
